The number of active companies in a region is an indicator of its economic strength and a determining factor in expanding the capacity to grow, generate employment and income. This section analyzes the characteristics of the business dynamics of the Bogota - Cundinamarca region in terms of: location, size, economic sector, locality and legal organization.

Active companies

Between January and December 2025, there are 432.275 active companies in Bogota and 73.746 in the 58 municipalities, for a total of 61.550. **Jurisdiction: corresponds to the total number of companies in Bogota and in the 59 municipalities in the CCB's area of influence.

MSMEs account for 99.3% of active companies in 2025; micro and small companies account for 98.0 %.

Services and commerce account for the largest number of active companies in Bogota and the 58 municipalities in the CCB's jurisdiction.

44.6% of active companies in Bogota are located in 5 localities in the north and west of the city.

The localities with the highest participation in active companies are Suba, Usaquén, Kennedy, Chapinero and Engativá.
