Analysis
59 municipalities in our region have 1,121 tourism service providers. The tourism production chain in the region is mainly represented in tourism services such as travel agencies, lodging establishments, tourist transportation, tourist representation offices, theme parks, gastronomy and tour guides, among others. Raising the level of competitiveness in terms of formalization, tourism sustainability, quality, innovation and safety is one of the main challenges for regional tourism destinations, thus contributing to increasing tourism demand for the region's tourism products and services.
Description
Law 300 of 1996, defines as tourist service providers, any natural or legal person that habitually provides, intermediates or contracts directly or indirectly with the tourist, the provision of tourist services, which is obliged to register in the National Tourism Registry before starting its operations. The obtaining of the registry will be a previous and obligatory requirement for the operation of the tourist establishments.
