Total and Effective Public Space in the localities of Bogota
Effective Public Space Analysis
The localities with the highest amount of effective public space are: Santa Fe with 30.8 m² per inhabitant, followed by Barrios Unidos with 12.23 m² per inhabitant and Teusaquillo with 11.02 m² per inhabitant. In contrast, the locality of Bosa presents an indicator of 1.99 m² per inhabitant in 2023, which represents an increase with respect to the 1.75 m² per inhabitant recorded in 2021. Similarly, the locality of Los Mártires increased its indicator from 2.20 m² per inhabitant in 2021 to 2.65 m² per inhabitant in 2023.
These data reveal a disparity in the availability of effective public space in the different localities. The Locality of Santa Fe presents the highest indicator of effective public space per inhabitant , thus complying with the minimum index of effective public space required by national regulations 15 m² (National Decree 1077 of 2015). On the other hand, the Localities of Bosa and Los Mártires show increases in their indicators for the year 2023, in relation to the year 2021, which are still low compared to localities such as Santa Fe, Barrios Unidos and Teusaquillo. This growth, although positive, suggests the need to continue implementing public space projects in these localities.
Total Public Space Analysis
The localities with the highest indicators of total public space (m2/inhabitant) are Santa Fé (50.47), Teusaquillo (38.74), Barrios Unidos (38.36), Usme (38.32) and La Candelaria (37.14). In contrast, the localities with the lowest indicators are San Cristobal (19.55), Ciudad Bolivar (20.76), Kennedy (16.55), Bosa (14.8) and Rafael Uribe Uribe (14.45). This reflects a notable disparity in the availability of public space between different localities of the city.

The total public space of the city is the sum of the different elements that are part of the effective public space (parks, squares, plazas, small squares and green areas) and the non-effective public space (road system and main ecological structure).
