Analysis

During the period from January to December 2025, in Bogotá’s wholesale markets, an upward trend of 2.6% was observed in the average quantity of food arriving (increasing from 202,826 to 208,133 tons per month). In this regard, 94.4% of the city’s food is traded at Corabastos, the main wholesale market. In December 2025, Corabastos reported a decrease of 6.0% compared to January of the same year, with volumes falling from 206,293 to 193,830 tons of food.

Regarding livestock heads, a 4.8% decrease was observed in the average number of heads transported between January and November 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year. The highest share of heads transported corresponded to pigs at 67.5%, followed by cattle at 37.8%.
