Information on the Animal Protection and Welfare sector

The Animal Protection and Welfare Cluster Initiative (PyBA) has the leadership and institutional support of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce. This is a neutral scenario, where business leaders, national, district and regional government, support entities, academia, non-profit organizations (ESAL) and social actors work collaboratively to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the PyBA sector of goods, products and services for pets, dogs and cats.

The CCB decides, at the beginning of 2024, to bet on this new initiative focused on the client, in this case, the people who live with pets, dogs and cats, as a linkage opportunity for several social and business sectors and clusters: food and veterinary medical services mainly, and at least 5 other sectors such as pharmaceuticals, logistics, fashion, cosmetics, tourism and recreation.

This initiative seeks to support the improvement of the competitiveness of companies in the PyBA economic sector, which today has more than 2,000 companies with direct services and up to 32,000 other companies with related products, goods and services in Bogotá and 59 municipalities in the CCB's jurisdiction in Cundinamarca.
