Labor Connection
In Colombia and Bogota, the most vulnerable populations face multiple barriers to access employment, which perpetuates inequality and hinders their integration into the labor market. Factors such as lack of adequate training, discrimination based on gender, age or socioeconomic status, labor informality and the scarcity of opportunities in formal sectors limit their possibilities of obtaining decent employment. In addition, many of these people lack contact networks and face difficulties in accessing digital tools, which complicates their recruitment. On the other hand, young students face additional barriers to access employment and university internships, which affects their transition to working life. The lack of previous experience is one of the main obstacles, as many companies require work trajectories that recent graduates have not been able to acquire. Added to this is the scarcity of paid internship programs, the limited supply of part-time jobs compatible with academic schedules, and the difficulty of covering transportation and food expenses while working or doing their internships. These conditions may discourage them from continuing their studies or delay their formal labor market insertion. Conexión Laboral is the employability program of the CCB's Productive Inclusion Network that seeks to eliminate these barriers to access the labor market, here both candidates and companies find training opportunities and support that allow them to have more successful spaces for job placement.
