Rules of the Data for Safety Contest
Regulation

Participation in the DATAJAM will be by teams of no more than three (3) students. No more than 5 teams may register per university, which will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Nature of Participant:
Only undergraduate students in their fourth semester or above, enrolled in a higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, located in Bogotá and/or Cundinamarca, will be accepted.
All participants must prove that they are over 18 years of age at the time of registration for DATAJAM, for which they must upload a photocopy of their ID card.
All students who wish to participate must provide proof that they are enrolled in a higher education institution at the time of registration. This proof may include: a university ID card dated 2026, a copy of the 2025-I tuition payment receipt with their ID number, or the 2026-I schedule with their ID number (see more information).
Group Composition:
All team members must belong to the same university.
Teams may be interdisciplinary, composed of a maximum of three students, regardless of whether they are from the same faculty or semester. However, we suggest that, where possible, teams include students from at least two different undergraduate programs.
Teams are encouraged to be composed of a combination of men and women to promote diversity and inclusion within the team.
It is suggested that each group have a mentor who must belong to and demonstrate that they are from the same university as the team.
Only a maximum of 10 teams per university will be accepted. In this regard, faculties and professors from different universities in Bogotá and Cundinamarca are encouraged to organize internally to register their best 10 teams.
Each team may only choose one of the three challenges proposed by the competition.
If any of the team members placed in the top 3 in the DATAJAM 2024 or 2025 final, the team may not choose the same challenge that their participant(s) won in the previous edition.
Participants may NOT belong to more than one team.
Role of the Tutor::
The tutor must be a professor belonging to the university of the team that wishes to register, regardless of their employment status.
The tutor, like the team participants, must demonstrate that they are currently affiliated with the university they represent. This can be done by presenting a valid 2025-I ID card with a citizenship card, or a letter from the university confirming their participation.
A tutor may lead and guide a maximum of three teams.
The tutor is responsible for guiding and supervising the team's work. Participants who do not meet these criteria will not be considered eligible for DATAJAM. It is the responsibility of each team to ensure that both their team members and their tutors meet all eligibility requirements before registering. It is important to note that no corrections will be made after the registration deadline. In other words, teams that register on the last day must ensure that they submit all the required documents, because if they are incomplete, the contest organizers will not request corrections and therefore these teams will not be registered.
