Main means of transportation used in Bogotá

According to the District Mobility Survey of 2023, the main means of transportation used by Bogota residents in that year was public transportation, which corresponds to 34.7%, followed by walking trips longer than 15 minutes, which corresponds to 27.5%, and the car with 13.9%. Additionally, the number of trips in the Bogota Region (20 municipalities) between 2019 and 2023 presented a decrease of 9%, going from 16 million to 14.6 million trips in all modes of transportation. As for travel times in the Bogotá Region, between 2019 and 2023 they were reduced, going from 60 minutes in 2019 to 54 minutes in 2023. Both in Bogota and in the region, non-motorized modes of transport have increased: on foot (greater than 15 minutes) by 24.1% in Bogota and 26.7% in the municipalities, and by bicycle, by 6.4% in Bogota and 9.7% in the municipalities. This contributes to improving environmental and social conditions, and with it, the competitiveness of the territory.
