On December 29, 2010, the National Government enacted Law 1429 of 2010 or the Formalization and Employment Generation Law, which provides benefits and incentives to entrepreneurs to reduce the costs of becoming formalized and support them in the growth of their businesses.

Requirements to access
In order to access or keep the benefits of the Law you must comply with the following requirements:
Employees that do not exceed 50 workers.
Total assets that do not exceed 5,000 Minimum Legal Monthly Wages in Force (SMMLV).
Renew the commercial registration before March 31 of each year.
Not be subject to any of the requirements mentioned in Article 48 of Law 1429 of 2010 or those mentioned in Article 6 of Decree 545 of 2011.
