In Bogotá D.C., it is a commercial custom to pay a commercial premium for the assignment of the lease of commercial premises by the assignee lessee in favor of the assignor lessee.
In Bogotá, D. C. and in the municipalities where the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce exercises jurisdiction, there is a commercial custom that, in the brokerage contract for the sale of real estate, a commission is paid to the broker when the broker has been able to conclude the contract through the intermediation of the broker. The commission is determined as follows: (i) if the real estate sold is in the urban area of Bogotá, D. C., the commission is equivalent to three percent (3%) of the sale price of the real estate; (ii) if the real estate sold is outside the urban area of Bogotá, D. C., but within the municipalities within the jurisdiction of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the commission is equivalent to five percent (5%) of the sale price of the real estate.
"In Bogotá D.C. and Region, it is a commercial custom that in off-street parking services, in which payment is not made at the time of departure, 15 minutes are granted for users to leave the establishment with the vehicle, after which the charge restarts at the stipulated rate".
"It is a commercial custom in Bogotá, D. C., that, in the car rental contract, the lessor grants the lessee a tolerance time between one and two hours at no additional cost, which operates after the time foreseen for the return of the car".

Beneficios
Tienen la misma autoridad de la ley comercial según el artículo 3 del Código de Comercio.
Cuando certificas tus prácticas como costumbres mercantiles, previenes conflictos, disminuyes costos de transacción y permites la interpretación de contratos.
En ausencia de ley comercial o estipulación de las partes, la costumbre mercantil será la norma que regule la relación comercial.
La certificación se constituye en prueba de la costumbre agilizando la construcción probatoria en un eventual proceso legal.
