Bogota, April 2024. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB) and the Spanish department store chain El Corte Inglés are holding the third edition of the "Bogota Marcando Estilo" contest, aimed at positioning the business fabric of Bogota-Region in Europe and supporting MSMEs in their internationalization processes.
The gastronomic contest is one of the components of this initiative, which seeks to promote local gastronomic products and dishes in the European market, highlighting the variety of Colombian cuisine. Among the activities programmed for this edition, the executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Ovidio Claros Polanco; Laura Londoño, influencer and winner of Master Chef Spain in 2023; Andrés Santamaría Garrido, Director of the Bogota District Institute of Tourism; among others, toured various emblematic sites in the capital, one of them being the Copuazú Restaurant, specialized in the gastronomy of the Colombian Amazon and one of the participants in the contest.
Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the CCB, stated that "With Bogota Marcando Estilo, we support the new ventures of young entrepreneurs and highlight the work of small suppliers whose role is essential for the advancement of our popular economy. With this initiative we also want to highlight the new business opportunities that are generated for MSMEs in Bogota and the region", he mentioned.
During the tour they also visited the Parque de los Periodistas, the historic center of La Candelaria, and the Plaza de la Concordia.
Bogota Marking Style
Bogota Marcando Estilo will also promote new business for micro and SME's in the agricultural and agro-industrial sector in Bogota-Region, through a supply roundtable to acquire foods made with cocoa, fruits, panela, chocolate, among others, that can be part of the Mediterranean diet and sold to be suppliers of the 100 cafeterias and restaurants of the El Corte Ingles chain.
