Bogotá will be the launchpad for the new Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Americas

Bogotá, September 2026. The Colombian capital will be the starting point of a new stage of business articulation in the Americas. Next Tuesday, September 22, within the framework of the II Summit International and Business Roundtable Bogotá and Cundinamarca, the opening and launch of the Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Americas (CCCAM), an initiative promoted by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) to connect the capabilities of the continent's cameras and convert that articulation in concrete opportunities for companies and territories.

The meeting, which will take place at 3:00 p.m. m. at the Capital Hotel, will bring together founding chambers of commerce, authorities, organizations international and strategic allies. The CCCAM is projected as a private, non-profit and non-governmental international association, with domiciled in Bogotá, which seeks to consolidate a permanent platform of integration, cooperation and execution between the Chambers of Commerce of the Americas.

“The birth of the CCCAM represents a step for the Chambers of Trade of the continent, let's go from sharing challenges to building answers joint ventures and real opportunities for companies. Bogotá will be the point of meeting from which we want to connect markets, knowledge and capabilities to promote more open, competitive and business growth sustainable,” said Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá.

A network that already links five regions in the Americas

CCCAM begins this first stage with more than 30 chambers of commerce founders from more than 15 countries, with presence in North America, Central America, Caribbean, Andean Region and Southern Cone. The initiative responds to a scenario in which that companies face profound transformations in the way they produce, trade and relate to international markets, driven by the artificial intelligence, the reconfiguration of global value chains, the growth of trade in services and greater geopolitical fragmentation.

Faced with this context, the Council seeks to articulate good practices, share knowledge, generate business opportunities and build projects collaborative that allow the cameras to anticipate these transformations and strengthen the competitiveness of their companies and territories.

From coordination to business

line

During its initial stage, CCCAM will concentrate its work on five fronts: commercial promotion and business services; connectivity, events and positioning; commercial knowledge and intelligence; cooperation international and alliances; and hemispheric policy and advocacy, in addition of initiatives aimed at chamber transformation and sustainability institutional.

Among the programs planned for 2026-2027 are the Wheels of Hemispheric Business, the CCCAM Summit, Institutional Trade Missions, Sector Reports, the Business Climate Barometer, Alliances Strategic Multilaterals and the Regional Value Chains Table.

The governance of the Council will be supported by a General Assembly, a Board of Directors and an Executive Directorate, under the principle of “one chamber, one vote”, regardless of its size, number of members or capacity economic.

September 22 will thus mark the launch and constitution act of the CCCAM in Bogotá, while on September 23 its first General Assembly, in which progress will be made in the installation of its governing bodies and at the beginning of the execution of their programs.

With this initiative, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce strengthens its commitment to business internationalization and the opening of new markets, seeking that cooperation between the chambers of the continent be translate into more connections, knowledge and opportunities for companies in Bogotá, Cundinamarca and the Americas.
