These are the galleries that will participate in the 16th edition of ARTBO | International Art Fair of Bogota

04 October 202251 galleries from 15 cities and 6 countries -Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Belgium, Chile and Colombia- will be distributed in more than 13,000 m2 in the Great Hall of Corferias.
  • The Main section returns with the 21m2 category, a space for galleries with up to six years of trajectory with refreshing proposals from the national and international art scene.

  • The Projects section, curated by Colombian Inti Guerrero, will bring together visual and sound vocabularies that reveal the aftermath of failed national projects and celebrate desire, humor and enjoyment as critical safeguards against the adverse panorama of the future.

ARTBO | Bogota International Art Fair will celebrate its return from October 27 to 30, 2022 at Corferias, with the participation of 51 national and international galleries -from Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Belgium and Chile-, outstanding curators and artists from 15 cities around the world.

In the Main section, ARTBO | Fair will present national and international galleries with trajectory, emerging and avant-garde proposals carefully selected by a committee made up of prominent figures of the art scene.

Galleries such as Athena (Brazil), Policroma (Colombia), Nordés (Spain), Factoría Santa Rosa (Chile), among others, belong to the 21m2 category, which seeks to showcase young galleries with up to six years of trajectory. Likewise, galleries with a great trajectory will be present, such as Rolf Art (Argentina), Max Estrella (Spain), Alarcón Criado (Spain), La Cometa (Colombia), among others.

The Main section will feature a large participation of Brazilian galleries, among them, Central Galería, with the artistic projects of Gabriela Mureb, Rodrigo Martins and Simone Cupello; Vermelho gallery, which will exhibit the works of artists Iván Argote, Lia Chaia and André Vargas; and Verve gallery, which is participating for the first time in ARTBO | Fair and will present the works of artists Igor Vidor and Pablo Ravina. Belgium will have a place in this section with the Newchild gallery, which will be participating for the first time in a Latin American fair and will present the works of artists Ella McVeigh and Brittney Leeanne Williams.

Among the participating Colombian galleries is Policroma from Medellin -first time at ARTBO | Fair-, which is also one of the young galleries and will exhibit works by artists Catalina Jaramillo Quijano, Ivan Hurtado and Pedro Montilla. Also noteworthy is the participation of Alonso Garcés Galería, which returns to the Fair with a proposal headed by Manolo Vellojín, Pedro Tagliafico and Jorge Riveros.

In addition, the Fair will also host the proposals of contemporary artists such as Nicolás Bonilla, Mariana Murcia, Tahuanty Jacanamijoy, Lorena Torres and Javier Morales Casas, represented by SGR Galería; and outstanding artists such as Clemencia Echeverri, Mario Opazo and Adriana Salazar, represented by Espacio Continuo.

The Projects section will present Projects of the Nation, a curatorship by Colombian Inti Guerrero -Artistic Co-Director-designate of the 24th Biennial of Sydney-. This exhibition will bring together visual and sound vocabularies that not only reveal the aftermath of failed nation projects, but also celebrate desire, humor and enjoyment as critical safeguards against the looming apocalyptic shadow of the future.

Some artists in the curatorship make reference to ancestral technologies and knowledge; others start from the dystopia of the ruins left behind by developmentalist utopias, while others find beauty in the forms of resistance engendered by the urban fabric.

Four Colombian artists (Antonio Caro, Francisca Jiménez, Jaime Ávila and Nicolás Cadavid) and four international artists from Venezuela, Mexico, the Netherlands and Angola participate in this section. The galleries participating in this section are Casas Riegner, from Bogota; Annet Gelink, from Amsterdam; Instituto de Visión, from Bogota and New York (USA); Espacio El Dorado, from Bogota; Galería Fonti, from Naples, Italy; Nueveochenta, from Bogota; ABRA, from Caracas, and RINCÓN, from Bogota.
