Humo Negro winner of the gastronomic contest of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota and El Corte Inglés

  • The Bogota Chamber of Commerce and El Corte Inglés will award Jaime Torregrosa to travel to Spain with a companion, participate in a Gastronomic week at Las Nubes Restaurant, and design with the ECI team the menu of 99 cafes and restaurants. In addition, El Corte Inglés will award a gastronomic trip to the Iberian country valued at 10,000 euros.

  • Within the framework of Bogota Marcando Estilo, the food and beverage supply roundtable was also held to select companies with export experience to enter the European market and provide El Corte Inglés restaurants with inputs such as cocoa, panela, exotic and frozen fruits. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce and El Corte Inglés awarded chef Jaime Torregrosa from the Humo Negro restaurant as the winner of the second edition of "Bogota Marcando Estilo", who stood out for the proposal he presented to the jurors for a lunch made with local and native products, which, due to the history of the preparation of the dish and its ingredients, stood out from the other applications.

The winner was part of the group of six finalist restaurants chosen by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and El Corte Inglés, among which were also Rey Guerrero, Monferrina, El Fogón Sanguileño, Fervere Resto and NH Hotels. The participants were visited during the first days of April, and the winner was awarded on Friday, April 8 at the Agora Bogota Convention Center.

Jaime Torregrosa will participate in the gastronomic week from May 19 to 23 in Madrid. Also, Jaime Torregrosa will participate in the construction of the menu, together with the R&D team of the Spanish company, which will be offered in the 99 cafeterias and restaurants of El Corte Inglés in Spain during the month of June. Finally, El Corte Inglés will award a gastronomic trip to Spain for him and a companion valued at 10,000 euros. The jury was made up of chef Ana María Vargas, from Balú restaurant and winner of the first version of Bogotá Marcando Estilo, John Freudenthaler, chef at the Hilton Bogotá Corferias Hotel, Juan Merino, director of purchasing and catering at El Corte Inglés, and Ivan Riesgo, head of catering and trade marketing at El Corte Inglés.

Gastronomy, fashion and tourism

Within the framework of Bogota Marcando Estilo, suppliers from Bogota and the region also presented food products with the aim of entering the European market and supplying El Corte Inglés with inputs such as cocoa, panela, exotic and frozen fruits to El Corte Inglés restaurants.

El Corte Inglés also curated for its summer fashion accessories stores such as handbags, hats, sarongs, kaftans, footwear, costume jewelry, jewelry, among others. On the other hand, in terms of tourism, and with the ECI travel agency, a catalog has been designed to promote Colombia and especially Bogota as the main Latin American tourist destination, in order to continue positioning our region in the Spanish market.

This initiative led by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce and El Corte Inglés seeks to promote the reactivation of companies at the international level, through actions that seek to generate business between companies, increase their sales and diversify their marketing channels.
