Launching of the Energy Efficiency Program: Open Enrollment for MSME Companies

27 June 2024The Energy Cluster, led by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, has officially launched its program to promote energy efficiency culture as a strategy to increase the competitiveness of the food safety, fashion, printing and packaging, tourism and sports sectors in order to promote the implementation of energy efficiency measures.

Get to know the Energy Efficiency Program

Objective of the program

The program aims to develop specific actions in MSMEs to promote the implementation of energy efficiency measures. This is considered a crucial strategy to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of participating companies. The selected companies will have access to specialized training, didactic materials, and advice throughout the implementation process.

Prioritized sectors

MSMEs interested in participating must belong to one of the following sectors: Food safety: companies engaged in food and beverage processing (processing activities). Fashion: includes activities related to the manufacture of clothing, leather, footwear, and leather goods.

Printing and packaging: printing and packaging activities. Tourism: activities related to lodging (hotels, aparthotels, resorts, rural lodging), traditional and non-traditional venues, organization of conventions and events. Sports: activities related to sports and recreational education, management of sports facilities and sports clubs.

Requirements for participation

The company must be registered and renewed by 2024 at the Bogota Chamber of Commerce.

The company must be available to carry out the proposed activities (diagnosis, measurements and support).

Company belonging to the prioritized sectors and may be located in Bogota or municipalities in the jurisdiction. Delegate at least one person from the team with whom the CCB can have a dialogue.

Phases of the program

The program will be developed in several phases:

Registration and selection of companies: interested companies must register at the following link before July 10. Once the registration period is over, compliance with the requirements will be verified and the beneficiary companies will be selected.

Diagnosis and identification of opportunities for improvement: a diagnosis and energy characterization of the 50 selected companies will be carried out in order to establish a roadmap and a proposal for support.

Accompaniment: 25 companies will be accompanied in the implementation of energy efficiency measures (good operating practices) in accordance with the work plan identified. Training of managers: in order to generate capacities for the identification of energy optimization opportunities in the companies, a virtual training will be carried out for the personnel of the companies linked to the program.

Networking events: companies will have the opportunity to participate in networking events to facilitate the connection with energy service providers, solvers, suppliers and financing entities.

Training and awareness-raising events: virtual conferences will be held on best practices in the sector.

Benefits for participating companies

Selected companies will receive free advice and training, and will have the opportunity to improve their competitiveness and reduce operating costs by optimizing their energy consumption. The program also seeks to raise awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and foster a culture of sustainability.
