Bogota, November 6, 2024. The city of Bogota is preparing to host the event “Ideas that transform: Meeting of innovation ecosystems”, which will be held at the Agora Convention Center on November 21 from 7:30 a.m. onwards. This meeting, organized by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, will bring together leaders, innovators and experts to share experiences and strategies on the development of innovation districts, which are fundamental for the business and social growth of the city.
The event will include the participation of representatives from different innovation campuses around the world, who will share their experiences on how to develop a successful ecosystem. Also in attendance will be prominent personalities, such as Julie Wagner, CEO and founder of the Global Institute on Innovation Districts. Wagner, an expert in urban geographies of innovation and one of the leading experts on the role of these ecosystems, will share her vision on the importance of innovation districts in the global context. Her work has been key to identifying new innovation geographies and how they can boost the competitiveness of cities and regions.
The program will include two panel discussions: “Knowledge on the Move: Strategies for Creating Innovation Ecosystems ‘ and ’From Innovation to Action: Lessons for Success”, where successful cases of innovation districts around the world will be presented. In addition, Bruce Katz, director of the Nowak Metro Finance Lab at Drexel University, will give a keynote presentation entitled “The Metropolitan Revolution”, in which he will discuss how cities can finance and foster inclusive and sustainable growth.
The importance of Bogota's Science, Technology and Innovation Campus (CTIB) will be a central point of the meeting, highlighting its role as a driver of development in the region and its contribution to the creation of an ecosystem that promotes collaboration between sectors.
This event not only seeks to inspire and generate ideas, but also to establish connections that will allow Bogota and Cundinamarca to become a benchmark for innovation at the international level.
