The Inter-Gremial Committee of Bogota and Cundinamarca held a working meeting with House Representatives for Bogota and Cundinamarca, to discuss issues related to the needs and proposals of the productive sector to improve the business environment in the city and the region.
The members of the Inter-Gremial Committee, made up of 22 production and service guilds, professional associations and civic entities, presented the congressmen with proposals on four thematic areas: i) Strategic infrastructure and territorial planning projects; ii) Tourism; iii) Entrepreneurship, innovation and human talent; and iv) Productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural value chains.
In particular, the Intergremial Committee asked the House of Representatives to count on the support of the Bogota and Cundinamarca benches so that, with the support of the National Government, the continuity of the major infrastructure projects of the city and the region, such as the green corridors, subway lines, cables and Regiotram, can be guaranteed.
It was also proposed to promote incentives to strengthen the tourism sector as a driver of the economy of Bogota and Cundinamarca; design public policies to strengthen the ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation; and promote the agricultural development of the region through the strengthening of production chains, the generation of efficient marketing channels, the implementation of health, quality and safety practices, and food security in the national territory.
For his part, the President of the House of Representatives David Racero and the Congressmen present at the meeting, mentioned the importance of these meetings in order to consolidate the 4 thematic axes presented to promote, from the Congress of the Republic, proposals for the region to be consolidated in the General Budget of the Nation 2024 and the National Development Plan 2022-2026.
Likewise, the Inter-Gremial Committee reiterated the importance of maintaining these spaces of articulation between the public and productive sectors, in order to generate strategic actions and promote joint proposals in the legislature in favor of the development of Bogota and Cundinamarca.
