BOGOTÁ, April 2026. A few days before the Colombia Carbon Forum (CoCF) 2026 converts the capital at the epicenter of global climate action, a new x-ray of the productive sector reveals a reality that demands attention: 83.6% of companies in the city-region still do not measure their carbon footprint. To this panorama adds that only 2 out of every 10 companies in Bogotá know the country's goal to reduce 51% of emissions by 2030.

These data are part of the results of the latest Decarbonization and Climate Action Survey, carried out by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá (CCB) to 1,557 companies, which will be presented within the framework of the Colombia Carbon Forum on April 16 and 17.

Although sustainability is today a factor determinant of business competitiveness, the study shows a slowdown in climate action, with fewer companies implementing measures compared to what was recorded in 2023. This trend suggests that the issue has lost dynamism within organizations, showing a lower priority strategic in a global context where environmental commitment is increasingly relevant.

Faced with this scenario, the Colombia Carbon Forum positioned as the strategic platform to reactivate commitment business and close the knowledge gaps detected. The event will count with the participation of experts from multilateral organizations such as the UNDP, UNEP, CAF and ECLAC, together with leaders of leading companies such as ISA, LATAM and Terpel.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the CCB, stated that: “This meeting, organized jointly by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, MEXICO₂ and Environment and Communications, has established itself as the most important technical and strategic platform in the country in terms of markets of carbon, with which we seek to accelerate the transition towards a low economy in emissions through public-private dialogue and cooperation international.”

The forum will be in person at Ágora Bogotá and accessible free, facilitating the exchange of knowledge between developers of projects, financial institutions and decision makers.
