The Bogota Chamber of Commerce, 11 municipalities of the Central Savannah region (Chía, Cota, Cajicá, Tabio, Tenjo, Zipaquirá, Sopó, Tocancipá, Gachancipá, Nemocón and Cogua); the Jaime Duque Park and the CAR's Parks Department will hold today and tomorrow the Tourism Showcase of the Central Savannah Region-Vitritur 2022.

This initiative seeks that tourism service providers can publicize their tourism offer and that of the region; establish effective partnerships with other members of the tourism chain, get information and participate in talks of interest that will contribute to the improvement of their business, the revitalization of the economy and the innovation of their tourism products.

Today, Wednesday, July 27, the event will feature 80 exhibitors from the department, a training session by Procolombia entitled: "Preparing myself for an international market", and visitors will also be able to access 39 attractions at Jaime Duque Park free of charge. Thursday 28 will be the "Encounter of Connection with Nature" at the Neusa Reservoir Park, where there will be different activities, such as bird watching, biking along the Neusa reservoir, interpretive trails, environmental fair, gastronomic sample, and training on conservation, tourism and nature. The schedule for the two days will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

It is expected the participation of more than 250 travel agencies, more than 500 tourism service providers of Cundinamarca and a significant attendance of managers, authorities and leaders of tourism in the department.

Nicolás Uribe Rueda, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, said "The CCB has a great commitment to consolidate the reactivation of the region, which is why we have permanent programs and services to promote business. For this meeting we expect to have more than 1000 attendees in order to give visibility to tourism companies in the area and generate articulations and business in one place". The meeting was attended by 1,400 visitors, including entrepreneurs, managers, authorities and suppliers of the tourism sector.

Currently, the region has more than 3,102 service providers and an important gastronomic offer and tourist attractions, which become the raw material for the development of nature, cultural, religious, adventure and wellness tourism products in the region.

VITRITUR 2022 is also expected to generate greater commercial and tourism integration ties with the other provinces of Cundinamarca invited to the meeting, identify opportunities and new business prospects, experiences and tourism services capable of attracting more visitors to the region and raise awareness among entrepreneurs in the tourism chain on issues of environmental management and responsible use of tourism resources.
