The third edition of Gastrofest arrives with more novelties

Bogota, June 2024. The new edition of Gastrofest, the gastronomic festival that seeks to highlight the local culinary richness and offers its diners dishes from 18,000 to 80,000 pesos, arrives this 2024 with surprises, novelties and benefits for entrepreneurs who participate in it.

Organized by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, the event, which will hold its third version between October 4 and 20 of this year, also aims to promote innovation in gastronomy, building connections with tourist and cultural experiences in the territories, as well as the productive chaining of this sector in Bogota and the Region.

In total, the gastronomic sector of Bogota and the municipalities of the provinces of Sabana Centro and Sumapaz in the department of Cundinamarca represents more than 44,000 companies related to restaurants, bakeries, cafeterias, food trade with table service, among others.

For this occasion, Gastrofest opens its doors to public and private marketplaces, and is moving forward in collaboration with the Institute for Social Economy (IPES) of Bogota and the Marketing and Innovation Agency of Cundinamarca to position them as attractive experiences for visitors. The plazas that wish to participate need only register and, if selected, will be included in the gastronomic, tourist and cultural experience routes designed to attract diners to the festival.

Benefits for entrepreneurs

The selected establishments will receive specialized mentoring that will include a business diagnostic of up to 10 hours, designed to improve their operational capabilities and attract more customers. In addition, they will be part of the Gastrofest gastronomic routes, to make their culinary proposals visible to a broad and diverse public.

Participants will also be offered an inventory and training scenarios, with the purpose of learning, adopting and appropriating the use of local ingredients in their preparations.

The other categories

Signature or Gourmet Cuisine or Haute Cuisine: Dishes between $60,000 and $80,000 pesos. These are establishments that stand out for the chef's ability to express his personal style through cuisine, offering a differential experience to the client. The menu must include a starter, a main course and a dessert, with locally sourced main ingredients.

Casual cuisine or fast food: Dishes between $30,000 and $40,000 pesos. These are establishments that maintain an informal, but high quality cuisine, with creative and local concepts. The menu should include a main dish and a side dish, with locally sourced main ingredients.

Traditional cuisine: Dishes between $40,000 and $70,000 pesos. Traditional dishes and techniques from Bogota or other regions of Colombia predominate. The menu must include a starter, a main course and a dessert, with main ingredients of local origin.

Popular restaurant or local "corrientazo": Dishes between $18,000 and $25,000 pesos. This is a homemade and varied menu that changes daily. The menu must include a starter, main course and dessert, with locally sourced main ingredients.

Bakeries, bakeries and/or pastry shops: Dishes between $15,000 and $25,000 pesos. The focus is on making breads, pastries or pastries using local ingredients and artisanal methods.

Coffees: Prices range from $15,000 to $25,000 pesos. They offer an experience centered on coffee, accompanied by food products.

Craft Breweries: Prices between $15,000 and $20,000 pesos. The menu must include a 500 ml pint.

Restaurants with Live Music or Gastrobar: Prices between $30,000 and $40,000 pesos. They combine the sale of alcoholic beverages and food with live music shows. The menu must include two tapas and a drink.

Hotel Restaurant: Dishes between $60,000 and $80,000 pesos. Located in or next to hotels, they offer menus aimed at tourists. The menu must include a starter, main course and dessert, with locally sourced main ingredients.
