Bogota, October 11, 2024. From October 16 to 19, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB) will hold the second edition of 'San Victorino a la Moda', an event that seeks to make San Victorino visible and position it as the epicenter of fashion in the capital and increase the competitiveness of MSMEs in the sector by providing technical assistance to increase productivity, generate new business opportunities and attract new local, national and international clients.

The event, which is free of charge and is part of the CCB's Program to Support Competitiveness in the Fashion Sector, is a powerful scenario for companies that manufacture and sell in this traditional sector of downtown Bogota to access new markets and align their offerings with current fashion trends.

In addition, it will be the most important moment of 2024 as the collections for the end-of-year season will be launched, after having gone through a process of accompaniment led by the CCB on four fronts: technical assistance in specialized foreign trade and sophistication of their products; specialized training and certified by the SENA, participation in important trade scenarios; a business roundtable and the closing is given with the launch of the collections.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, said that “San Victorino a la Moda' is one of the most ambitious initiatives of the CCB and is part of our commitment to support this traditional sector of the capital. In this way we contribute both to the strengthening and projection of the popular economy, as well as to the growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the manufacture and marketing of garments”.

San Victorino a la Moda' carries out this initiative in alliance with the shopping centers in that area of the capital, such as Gran San, Neos, Visto and Punto Once, and with AsoSanVictorino. Attendees will be able to enjoy activities such as catwalks, live music, brand activations, among others.

In the most recent edition of Bogota Fashion Week, a CCB platform, 10 companies from San Victorino participated for the first time in the 'El Madrugón' runway show, as part of the [P u e n t e] San Victorino initiative, a space designed for entrepreneurs from this area of Bogota to showcase their creations in a world-class event.

Impact of the fashion cluster

Between January and September 2024, the fashion cluster initiatives have had a profound impact on 323 companies and benefited more than 950. Thus, the CCB has facilitated the participation of 86 companies as exhibitors in the Colombiatex de la Américas fairs; IFLS, in its February and July versions; Createx; Eje Moda; Colombiamoda; +Talante; and in the Love Edition version of the EVA fair.

In addition, 55 companies benefited from participation in the foreign trade technical assistance program for fashion companies. A total of 50 entrepreneurs received technical assistance for the implementation of the 2025 and 2026 macrotrends in the sophistication project for the generation of added value in fashion companies”. 90 companies were certified by SENA in three training cycles in visual communication for fashion and productivity and quality inspection in textile products, and 39 indigenous artisans from the Wounaan and Eperara Siapidara communities completed the labor competency certification process.

Last September, a Business Roundtable was held as part of the 'San Victorino a la Moda' initiative, in which 87 MSMEs benefited, 943 business appointments were made, on-site sales were reported for more than $144 million and business expectations of approximately $4,404 million.

The CCB has a Digital Community for the fashion sector, which brings together more than 1,880 registered actors, where businesswomen, businessmen and entrepreneurs have a place where they can find all the CCB's services for the sector and interact with other actors in the ecosystem.
