Today, December 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Bogota Chamber of Commerce will hold the first Congress of Corporate Volunteering in which it will highlight the efforts made by the 250 mentors of various programs that the entity has at the disposal of MSMEs. The event will be held at the CCB's Chapinero Business Center.
Since 2020, a total of 6,543 companies have received 19,000 volunteer hours of mentoring services provided on a voluntary basis. As a result, companies have been able to impact their productivity and sales.
Bogota, December 2022. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce, with the support of Comfama, HandsOn and Corona, will hold the first Corporate Volunteering Congress to be held on the occasion of International Volunteer Day.
During the event, the impact of corporate volunteering initiatives in Colombia will be discussed, as well as the participation of Voluntare and Points of Light, important international guests who are referents of corporate volunteering in the world to talk about corporate volunteering as a generator of social value.
During the event, the efforts made by 250 mentors will be highlighted to recognize the outstanding work they achieved this year for their commitment and time donated to advise and accompany entrepreneurs and businessmen in the different programs of the CCB, which are undoubtedly generating value to society.
Thanks to them, companies in Bogota-Region have been able to grow and enhance their businesses, showing entrepreneurs and businessmen the path that leads to the consolidation and growth of their businesses and their impact on the construction of a more conscious and participatory country.
Nicolás Uribe Rueda, president of the CCB, stated that "We started in 2020 with a small group of mentors and currently we have more than 900 professionals, corporate executives, managers and company presidents who believe that mentoring is an effective mechanism to leave a legacy in MSMEs. More than 6,500 companies have already benefited from mentoring services.
The CCB has high-impact mentoring programs such as MEGA Trajectory Companies, Advisory Committees, the Tech Women Accelerator, Mentoring with Investment, Mega Trajectory Schools, University Entrepreneurship, Todos Unidos, and Supplier Development with Corporations, through which 19,000 volunteer hours have been donated. All at the service of strengthening the country's business fabric.
In this work, the CCB has joined forces with 12 corporations and a network of allies that has allowed us to strengthen the CCB's network of mentors. Terpel, Directv, Claro Colombia, Organización Corona, PWC, Fundación Nutresa, Haceb, Comfama, Sodimac, Grupo Argos, Colombina, Tigo Colombia are the companies that have joined us. Allies such as EO, YPO, Aciem, Inalde, Cesa and the Presidents Forum of the CCB have added volunteer mentors that allow us to position the mentoring service in Bogota and the rest of the country on a daily basis.
The CCB assures that the objective is to form the corporate volunteer network with the highest number of hours donated, promoting high-value relationships, creating connections, making visible initiatives of great business leaders and generating a positive impact that contributes to the growth of entrepreneurs and the sustainability of the country.
The event takes place within the framework of International Volunteer Day, a date that since December 17, 1985, the UN General Assembly commemorates to invite all sectors to take action to raise awareness of the important contribution of volunteers, thus encouraging more people in all walks of life to offer their services.
