Bogotá, July 2025. Following an election involving 59 candidates and more than 500 chambers of commerce worldwide, the executive president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, Ovidio Claros Polanco, was appointed as a member of the new Board of Directors of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.

The Board was formed with a focus on inclusion, regional balance, and gender diversity, with the aim of representing the different regions of the world more equitably. In total, the new body is made up of 40 members. The inclusion of Claros Polanco in this important governing body represents international recognition of his leadership and the work that the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce has been doing to strengthen the business environment, regional competitiveness, and international cooperation. It also reinforces Latin America's presence and voice in global business forums.

"I accept this appointment with great responsibility and enthusiasm. It is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between chambers at the global level, share best practices, and promote initiatives that contribute to business growth with a sustainable and inclusive approach, especially from the Latin American perspective," said the CCB's executive president.

The World Chambers Federation (WCF) is an organization affiliated with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) that represents more than 12,000 chambers of commerce worldwide. Its mission is to strengthen the institutional capacities of the chamber system, foster cooperation among its members, and promote public policies favorable to business development.

For the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, this important designation is an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to collaborative work, economic development, and the effective representation of the business community of Bogotá, the region, and Latin America on the global stage.
