La CCB

The thirteenth edition of the Bogota Audiovisual Market - BAM, a program organized by Proimágenes Colombia and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), with the support of the Film Development Fund (FDC), ended successfully on Saturday, July 16, with the participation of nearly 1,400 industry professionals. During 6 days, BAM accredited participants were able to enjoy networking spaces, talks to update on the latest audiovisual trends, an agenda on the most relevant topics on public television, inclusion and diversity, as well as screenings of Colombian fiction and documentary films, which are beginning their journey towards their international premiere.
After two years of exploring other formats and adapting to virtuality, the BAM returned to its traditional venues of Industry (Chamber of Commerce of Bogota - Chapinero), Experience (Gimnasio Moderno) and Screenings (Casa ARK and Múltiplex Avenida Chile) to bring together creativity, talent, companies and projects. The market also rescued the virtual component to broaden its scope and reach those members of the audiovisual sector who could not travel to Bogota. On this occasion, 16 guests and 128 buyers from 18 countries -Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Uruguay and the United States- participated. In total, close to 2,000 business meetings were held, of which 350 were scheduled by the organization for the projects selected by the call for proposals. These meetings created ties that will contribute to the growth of Colombian talent and the Colombian audiovisual industry.
During the closing ceremony of the event, the Memorandum of Understanding for the Coproduction Agreement between Italy and Colombia was signed. COPRODUCTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN ITALY AND COLOMBIA
On Saturday, July 16, at the closing of the market, the General Directorate of Film and Audiovisual of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Proimágenes Colombia signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the Co-production Agreement between Italy and Colombia. Roberto Stabile, Director of Film and Audiovisual of the Ministry of Culture of the Italian Government, and Claudia Triana, General Director of Proimágenes Colombia, agreed to process the memorandum with the Government of each country so that it becomes a Coproduction Agreement between the two countries. This agreement will facilitate all the procedures to nationalize, in Italy and in Colombia, the films made in co-production; as well as the meeting between producers, distributors and other agents of the value chain of the two countries to promote audiovisual projects and increase the number of co-productions.
During the signing of the memorandum, Roberto Stabile affirmed the Italian government's commitment to BAM and BAM Regiones for the next three years. The support they offer to the market and its initiative in the regions will be translated into economic and logistical support and a boost to international relations. Agustina Lumi (SANFIC Industry, Series Lab, Argentina). "The 2022 edition of BAM surprised me a lot because there was a lot of euphoria to meet again and to be able to have face-to-face meetings where everyone can share the project they brought, what they are doing, really, a nice surprise. In these three face-to-face days, at the Industry Headquarters, I had several one-to-ones with Colombian projects of very talented creators who showed me that there is a diversity of stories to tell that come from the local level, but that have the intention to reach the whole world, to internationalize and continue to grow. So it has been very gratifying, from SANFIC Industry we are very grateful to be able to listen to stories and evaluate them within the framework of Series Lab, our space". Sergio Gandara (Parox, Chile). "Colombia is a tremendously fortunate territory, first of all because they have had a wonderful opportunity that their representatives have seen in the audiovisual industry an opportunity to promote foreign investment, especially the tax rebate [tax rebate] and cash rebate [cash refund], incentives that I have realized, since I started coming to BAM in 2010, the amount of foreign investment platforms making series and films here is outstanding, no comparison with Chile.
As for business opportunities, I have already worked with Colombia on other occasions, my latest series is directed by a Colombian and here, as a first, with the production company Rayuela we reached a co-production agreement for the second series".
