Bogota, April 10, 2024. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce today launched its strategy of business support and strengthening for entrepreneurs and businessmen in the municipality of Cota.
This strategy involves three fronts: in-depth knowledge of the entrepreneurs and businessmen of the region with a characterization of them that will allow addressing their needs; advocacy in public policy in favor of the productive sector, for which it has been working hand in hand with the Development Plan of the municipality; and strengthening the attention to entrepreneurs with the presence of a permanent point of attention of the CCB.
Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, stated that "we are committed to the region for its contribution to economic and social development. Therefore, we are directly addressing the needs of the productive sector to impact the strengthening and growth of companies in Cota".
The new point of attention will be located in the Zuca Shopping Center and will start operating soon with the following services:
Advisories in business strengthening, previously scheduled.
Previously scheduled counseling with other entities of the entrepreneurial route.
Information, orientation and advisory services (Advice on business formalization, promotion and dissemination, among others).
Transactional services (CCB registry services).
Complementary services (Filing of correspondence, procedures of the Mayor's Office and entities linked to the business route.

Characterization
In order to provide a more efficient service, the CCB conducted a characterization of Cota's productive sector. According to the results, the municipality has a total of 3,668 companies, 78% of which belong to the service sector, 32% to the commerce sector, and 18% to the industry sector, among others. Four percent of the companies in Cota are large, 27% are SMEs and 69% are micro. Fifty-seven percent are individuals and 40% are legal entities.
22% are companies that have been in existence between 10 and 20 years; 8% between 21 and 30 years; and 4% more than 30 years. Companies that have been in existence for one year represent 15% (561 companies). The most representative sectors in Cota are: Construction with a 17% share (622 companies) and food and gastronomy 9% (322 companies).
The highest business density is concentrated in the center 65% and in Zuca 28% (including more than 300 companies that are domiciled in Bogota or other municipalities) but operate from the municipality.
