Bogota, September 2, 2024. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), in partnership with Uniempresarial and the Bogota Metropolitan Police, launched the course “Public Management and Community Leadership”, aimed at training 110 Community Police officers.
This program is part of the CCB's “Integral Strategy for Collaborative and Solidarity Security,” implemented with the aim of contributing to a safer, more productive and inclusive city. The initiative involves various sectors and actors of society, seeking to provide them with tools and capabilities that promote environments of integrity and responsible coexistence.
Ovidio Claros, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, noted: “Since 1978, we have maintained a permanent relationship of collaboration with the National Police. Today, within the framework of this alliance, hand in hand with our university Uniempresarial, we are launching a program that will strengthen the capacities of the Community Police”.
The CCB remains committed to working together with public and private actors at the local, regional and national levels. This approach of co-responsibility and long-term vision seeks to generate opportunities to improve social, productive and community development, in order to ensure a safe business environment both in Bogota and in the region.
Security training
The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce trains MSMEs and commercial establishments through security workshops, visiting them door-to-door in different parts of the city and in marketplaces. During these visits, information is provided on the prevention of extortion, theft in businesses, cybercrime, and protocols for attention and guidance in cases of gender violence are offered. In 2024, more than 500 entrepreneurs have been trained, and more than 1,500 cybersecurity advisories have been offered.
