The CCB Andean Half Marathon arrives to Chía and opens pre-registration for an edition that hopes to bring together 15,000 runners

Bogotá, D.C., July 2026. After consolidate as a platform to promote sport, energize the local economies and strengthen regional tourism, the CCB Andean Half Marathon arrives this year in Chía and officially opens its pre-registration stage for the 2026 edition, which will take place on December 6.

Organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) in alliance with the Chía Mayor's Office, the race hopes to bring together 15,000 runners, more than double of the participants registered in the previous edition, consolidating itself as one of the fastest growing sporting events in Bogotá-Region.

Beyond athletic competition, the CCB Andean Half Marathon has been become a tool to promote the economic development of the territories. In 2025, the event held in Fusagasugá brought together more than 7,000 athletes and generated significant results for the province of Sumapaz: a direct economic impact estimated at $2.5 billion, a hotel occupancy of 99.8%, a growth in local commerce of 17% and the generation of 800 direct jobs.

Each edition boosts tourism, strengthens local businesses, generates opportunities for entrepreneurs and projects the potential of our municipalities. With Chía we want to take a new leap and continue building a Bogotá-most competitive, integrated and prosperous region", he stated Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.

For his part, Leonardo Donoso, mayor of Chía, highlighted that "Chía It is the municipality with the best offer of services in the region, we have a exemplary public space and the capacity to host large events, the CCB Andean Half Marathon is an opportunity to demonstrate that with results and actions we strengthen our competitiveness.”

Pre-registration open

Pre-registration corresponds to the first stage to participate in the race and will allow those interested to reserve their place, receive information priority over the official opening of registrations and learn first hand the news of the event.

The competition will have 21K, 10K and 5K courses, designed to high-performance athletes, amateur runners and people looking to live a family sports and recreational experience.

With this new edition, Chía prepares to receive thousands of visitors in a day that will combine sport, well-being, tourism and economic development, reaffirming the role of the CCB Andean Half Marathon as one of the initiatives that most drives the integration and growth of Bogotá-Region.
