Today, Monday, September 12, begins the 11th edition of the Bogota Music Market - BOmm, one of the most important music markets in Colombia and Latin America, which has established itself as the meeting point for industry players and the ideal place to generate circulation and marketing opportunities.
In this edition, La Candelaria, in downtown Bogota, will host agents, buyers and artists -a sample of the best of local talent. The venues of the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, the Colon Theater, the Gilberto Álzate Avendaño Foundation - FUGA and the Colonial Museum will host more than 100 events that make up BOmm 2022.
The venues The Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, located at Calle 11 #5-60, will be one of the main venues for BOmm 2022. In the Rogelio Salmona and Porfirio Barba Jacob auditoriums, as well as in the María Mercedes Carranza and León de Greiff classrooms, will be held the academic section consisting of the BOmm Talks -where national and international professionals from the sector will share their experiences, lessons learned and predictions about the music industry- and the BOmm Labs -a space for workshops with industry leaders-. The activities, which run from September 12 to 16, will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last until 1:00 p.m. each day.
Likewise, the Commercial Fair will be held at the Mexico Square, a space that brings together entrepreneurs of the music and cultural scene, convened by the BOmm and the Gilberto Álzate Avendaño Foundation - FUGA.
Finally, in the Macondo passage, accreditations will take place. The Teatro Colón, located at Calle 10 #5-32, will host the Showcases -live performances by previously selected artists; see the list here- and the Inspirational Talks -where the most relevant agents of the music industry share their experiences and encourage the audience to develop their own initiatives-.
Showcases begin on Tuesday, September 13 at 2:30 p.m. and will run through Thursday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m. The last two presentations will take place at the Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño - FUGA (carrera 3 #10 - 27), as part of the musical tour through the neighborhood of La Candelaria, organized by the Foundation. This tour will also include the launching of the Festival Centro. Finally, the Colonial Museum, located at Carrera 6 #9-77, will host the face-to-face business roundtables. The national roundtable, for national artists and buyers, will be held on Tuesday, September 13. The international roundtable, which brings together the artists with the highest curatorial scores, guest artists and international buyers, will be held on Wednesday, September 14 and Thursday, September 15. On Friday, September 16, the business rounds will be virtual for all market agents.
