The appointment, proposed by Ovidio Claros, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, and approved by the CAEM Board of Directors, reinforces the organization’s commitment to promoting sustainable development and corporate environmental management in the country.
With an outstanding track record in public policy, environmental management, and sustainability, Ricardo Lozano Picón has held positions such as Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development (2018–2022). He has also served as Colombia’s focal point for organizations such as the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), the World Meteorological Organization, GEO (Group on Earth Observations), and UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme.
The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce warmly welcomes the new president of its affiliate, confident that his experience and dedication to sustainability will contribute to strengthening innovative projects, expanding strategic alliances, and generating a positive impact on the business ecosystem, the region, and the country.
