Bogota, June 2024. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Federation of Traders and Shopkeepers of the Popular Economy and Corferias have joined forces to carry out the first meeting of popular and solidarity economy, + Talante, which seeks to promote the strengthening and generation of opportunities for companies that make up this segment of the economy, recognizing their contribution and value within the local and national economy.
For three days, from July 18 to 20, visitors, who will have free access to +Talante, will enjoy knowledge and training spaces, commercial samples made up of nearly 400 entities and entrepreneurs, and cultural activities to enjoy with the family, all designed to promote the popular economy.
The meeting will include five main components: knowledge and training agenda; exhibition of programs and projects; business workshops; international experiences; and experiences and wellbeing, as well as specialized intervention programs for popular economy businesses that are ready to move to the next level and need to acquire skills for their consolidation as sustainable and competitive companies that can make the transition to scalability, through acceleration programs.

In this first edition, +Talante will have the support of different entities and companies that work in the development of projects in favor of the popular and solidarity economy, such as SENA, the National Savings Fund, Cafam, Positiva, the National Association of Bread Manufacturers -ADEPAN-, among others.
There will also be a cultural agenda that includes presentations by musical and dance groups, as well as the participation of national personalities who will share their resilient and inspiring experiences.
What is popular economy?
According to the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, the popular economy refers to the trades and commercial and non-commercial occupations carried out by small-scale economic units in any economic sector.
