Bogota, February 2025. In the facilities of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota (CCB) the legality pact was signed with Coljuegos, which seeks to strengthen the fight against games of chance that operate illegally.
This pact seeks to unify efforts between different public and private entities, to make the citizens aware of the importance of playing in a legal and responsible manner; as well as to develop actions to strengthen legality in the territory, guaranteeing that the money produced by games of chance are destined to the health system of the city and constitute significant income for the municipalities of Cundinamarca.
The president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Ovidio Claros Polanco, highlighted the importance of the pact for legality: “Through this type of spaces we seek to make visible the commitment of the entity and its role in the transformation of the problems, for the construction of solutions. Formality and regulatory compliance not only strengthen citizens' trust, but also generate real benefits for everyone: from greater transparency in operations to an increase in the resources allocated to health and social welfare”.
Coljuegos and the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota (CCB), agree to enter into this pact to establish a responsible gaming policy that protects the vulnerable population and positions games of chance as an alternative in the country's entertainment offer, with a focus based on three axes: i) the fight against corruption, ii) the reduction of barriers for those who currently operate informally, and iii) the digital transformation of the entity.
Within the framework of the pact between Coljuegos and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), to promote good legality practices, prevent fraud and money laundering and identify illegal gambling in the territories where its members are present, five commitments are defined, which are deployed in 5 actions to be developed within a period of one (1) year from the date of subscription of the Pact by the parties.
“This is an inter-institutional effort that aims to promote legality and strengthen popular economies. We want the Bogota Chamber of Commerce to become an ally to promote the legal industry in the capital”, said Marco Emilio Hincapié, president of Coljuegos.
Coljuegos is the Industrial and Commercial Company of the State Administrator of the Monopoly of Gaming and Gambling.
