The 11th edition of the Bogota Music Market - BOmm, one of the most important music markets in Colombia and the meeting point for players in this industry to find opportunities for circulation and marketing, kicks off next Monday, September 12.
One of these promotional scenarios are the showcases, where 23 musical groups and artists will be able to demonstrate their performance on stage, through live presentations, in front of buyers, concert promoters, agencies, record companies, publishers, brands, other agents of the music industry and the general public.
Artists, musicians and groups of all musical genres from different territories of the country were invited from April 26 to June 6 to apply in an open call to generate business opportunities and visibility in the 2022 edition. 23 artists and musical groups were selected to demonstrate their energy and musical quality to national and international buyers and the general public. These showcases will take place at the Teatro Colón (Calle 10 # 5-32).

María Paz Gaviria, Platforms Manager of the CCB, said: "The BOmm is the meeting point of the music sector where musicians, agents, stakeholders, academia, come together around business and professional updating. This year we will have national and international business rounds and between agents to contribute to the consolidation of the reactivation of the sector".
The selection
The selection process was in charge of great referents of the music scene such as Julio César Escovar, Nadia Orozco, Nicolás Romero, Carolina Gómez, Alejandro Marín, Mariangela Rubbini, Juan Francisco Medina, Rodrigo Duarte, Daniella Cura, Luisa Piñeros, Gustavo García, Luis Felipe Ríos, Antonio Alarcón, Diana Avella, Freddy Cepeda, Roberto Cardona, Diana Tobar and Sandra Meluk, Gustavo García, Luis Felipe Ríos, Antonio Alarcón, Diana Avella, Freddy Cepeda, Roberto Cardona, Diana Tobar and Sandra Meluk, who evaluated the applicants, offered technical recommendations and indicated the best proposals for the showcase stages.
The selection of the showcases was based on the highest score given by the curators, according to musical genre and divided as follows:
• Group A: ballad, bosa nova, latin music, pop, salsa and son
• Group B: blues, indie, metal, punk, rhythm and blues, rock and ska
• Group C: Andean music, cumbia, folclor, folk, reggae and world music
• Group D: electronic music, hip hop, rap, reggaetón and urban music
• Group E: classical music, colombian beats, funk, gospel, instrumental music, jazz, popular music, soul and vallenato

Music genre: pop
Twins Valeria and Valentina come to create memories with their music. Their first EP was Iridiscente (2020) and their second album Línea Recta, which includes songwriting collaborations with Juanes, Alex Cuba, Tommy Torres and Juan Pablo Isaza demonstrate the versatility and extraordinary talent that the duo has. In 2021, they opened Juanes' show in New York for his Origen Tour 2021, they were the opening act for Timo and in 2022 they opened Santiago Cruz's concert in Bogota.
La Pambelé
Musical genre: Salsa
Salsa dura orchestra from Bogota that was born from the love for the old sounds of this genre and the guaguancó of New York in the 70's, with their own songs full of descarga and flavor. Formed by young lovers of the genre from different regions of the country that give a unique identity to the sound of their songs and lyrics.
Junior Zamora
Music genre: Rhythm and Blue
Musician, composer, singer, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist from Cali. Through his musical exploration, he has taken his work to revolve around the broad traits of black culture, with his own sounds and influences marked by Afro-American sounds, coastal rhythms, urban trends, R&B and Latin pop.
Las Áñez
Musical genres: Andean, pop and world music.
Vocal duo of twin sisters from Bogota, which since 2013 creates music to be sung with a pedal of loops and small instruments. Mixing folklore and avant-garde in songs, Las Áñez completes eight years of trajectory in which they have produced several singles and three albums, and have taken their concert to renowned stages in ten countries in America and Europe. They have collaborated in their music with great Colombian artists such as Andrea Echeverri, Edson Velandia, Marta Gómez, El Cholo Valderrama and Lido Pimienta.
Killabeatmaker
Musical genres: Electronic
Colombian musician and producer born in the city of Medellín. His music seeks to connect the sonorities of folkloric and traditional South American music with afro-electronic rhythms. As a producer and engineer, he has been working with international artists for more than 15 years, and is recognized in the Colombian music industry for his versatility and ease in developing proposals with different musical genres. His debut EP is titled Fauna (2019) and enabled him to travel and share his music on the European continent. In 2021 he releases his second EP entitled Matiela Suto (Colombian Singles Series, Vol. 2, Part 2).
PAPAYEBRASS
Musical genres: Instrumental, jazz and world music.
Musical proposal that seeks to exalt the brass instruments format, popularly known in the Colombian Caribbean as wind bands or papayeras. Papayebrass in its musical concept proposes an amalgam of sensations, from its sound, staging, choreography and costumes.
It has been in festivals in Barranquilla as the International Meeting of Trumpet, Trombone and Euphonium, and the Uninorte Interactive Music Festival. He has participated in TEDx Barranquilla, in cultural markets such as Ruta Sur and the Caribbean Cultural Market, among other events.
