Bogota, June 2025. Under the concept ‘I am popular’, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB) will hold the second edition of +Talante from July 17 to 20, an event that seeks to make visible and strengthen the initiatives, programs and projects of the popular and solidarity economy, as well as extol the work of small businesses, producers, establishments and other actors associated with this economic and population segment.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, stated that "the figures indicate that the popular and solidarity economy is at the very heart of our economy. Its contribution to income generation, social cohesion and territorial development is evidence of this. That is why it is essential to contribute to overcoming challenges that have historically affected this population, such as limited access to business services, difficulties in formalization, poor representation and exclusion from traditional business platforms. We are building +Talante precisely to close these gaps and help make these challenges a thing of the past.

According to data from the Survey of entrepreneurship and the popular economy 2024 in Bogota and Cundinamarca, conducted by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, 77.8% of businesses with commercial registration are recognized as part of the popular economy.

Of these, 35.5% do not keep their personal and/or family accounts separate from those of their business.
