This is the second time Ovidio Claros has been elected to this position. In this role, he has worked for chamber unity, for greater participation of smaller Chambers, for generating synergies between the Chambers of Commerce and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises), and promoting the popular economy.

The new Chairman of the Confecámaras Board stated that "We will continue working with Confecámaras for the strengthening of our Chambers of Commerce with initiatives that result in benefits for our businesses and thereby positively impact the economy."

As part of the support for the chamber network and the new focus Ovidio Claros has promoted, he supported the inclusion of representatives from Chambers of Commerce of various sizes on this year's executive committee, so that they may contribute to defining the direction of the chamber network.

Thus, Jose Luis Urón, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Valledupar and the Cesar River, was named First Vice Chairman of the Confecámaras Board; and Isabel Cristina Arias, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sevilla, the country's smallest Chamber of Commerce, was named Second Vice Chairman.
