Bogotá, October 29, 2024. The Board of Directors of the Colombian Confederation of Chambers of Commerce (Confecámaras) today unanimously elected Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, as the new president of the Board of Directors of the Confederation for a period of one year.
Ovidio Claros will work at the national level to promote entrepreneurship, MSMEs and the popular economy in order to strengthen their business capabilities; he will provide support by working hand in hand with large companies and generating synergies between them and MSMEs; and he will promote public-private articulation in favor of economic and social development”.
The new president of the Board of Confecámaras said that “We will work to strengthen the chamber system, with the participation of the smallest to the largest Chambers of Commerce, all with a single purpose: to contribute to the economic growth of the country from the services”.
Juan Carlos Rincón, president of the Bucaramanga Chamber of Commerce, was elected first vice-president of the Confecámaras Board, and Lorenza Hernandez Martinez, president of the Dosquebradas Chamber of Commerce, was elected second vice-president.
