The 11th edition of the Bogota Music Market - BOmm ended on September 16 with 3,750 business appointments scheduled between artists, groups, agents and buyers, and more than 7,000 attendees. During the five days of the market, more than 100 events were held, including talks, workshops and musical presentations, in addition to 22 showcases -live performances- and 23 events that made up the nightly agenda, BOmm Nights, which brought together local artists and their audiences.

A total of 5 business rounds were held, in person and virtually, with the participation of 300 artists and groups, 110 agents, 260 buyers - 160 national and 100 international buyers from 20 countries - and 18 music supervisors. A total of 3,750 appointments were scheduled, 2,230 face-to-face and 1,520 virtual. The 300 artists who participated in these business spaces were selected through a public call in May and June, which received 900 applications in genres such as salsa, pop, blues, indie, punk, rock, Andean, cumbia, electronic, hip hop, classical, jazz, popular, vallenato, among others, which were evaluated by 18 music industry curators. The Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Center, the Colon Theater, the Colonial Museum and the Fundación Gilberto Alzate Avendaño - FUGA Pier, located in downtown Bogota, were the main venues where the market was held, which also brought together 75 guests and experts from the national and international music industry to share their learning, experiences and visions.

María Paz Gaviria, Platforms Manager of the CCB, stated that "with initiatives like this, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce seeks to contribute to the consolidation of business reactivation in one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic, where there are currently 1561 active companies, which well exceed the levels of 2020 and 2021. This edition leaves us with great satisfaction, but above all a lot of enthusiasm to continue joining efforts for the growth of the sector and the consolidation of the industry; we are already working on the next market, which will be held from September 11 to 15, 2023".

The voice of the participants BOmm was the meeting point for actors and agents of the music industry in Colombia. For example, Yuzzy Acosta CEO of Eclectic Media, who participated in the BOmm as a buyer, said: "The event surprised me positively. We have found diverse, very impactful and disruptive artists, with whom we have identified business opportunities".

Likewise, Carolina Posada, from La Magdalena Fest, found new talents for her festival at BOmm: "I was interested in participating because I had the expectation of meeting artists from different parts of the country to invite them to my festival and I fulfilled it. The sessions are very interesting, because we have the possibility of exchanging experiences among actors in the sector. I was able to present my festival and meet other similar initiatives in the country," he said. For the artists, especially for those who performed in the Showcases, the platform was an ideal scenario to showcase their talent: "In this edition of BOmm we have had the opportunity to participate in other cultural markets and I think this one has fulfilled our expectations. We have met many people from the industry, which will surely help us in the future," said Isaac Navarro, trumpet player and musical director of Papayebrass.

During these 11 years, BOmm has energized the industry through 225 Showcases, summoning more than 1000 international buyers, 4500 Colombian companies, entrepreneurs and agents, and providing tools to promote artists and bands such as Esteman, Herencia de Timbiquí, Los Petit Fellas, Puerto Candelaria, Maité Hontelé, Velandia y la Tigra, Diamante Eléctrico, beyond our borders.
