Bogota, September 12, 2023. The Bogota Music Market - BOmm, a promotion and circulation program for the music sector of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, kicked off. For 5 days, the city will become the epicenter of music, where visitors will be able to enjoy a rich academic agenda (BOmm Conversations and BOmm Labs), as well as enjoy live performances in the Showcases and BOmm Nights, which focus on the Pacific region, recognizing the most powerful and forceful sounds of the coast from a perspective that evidences the existing dialogue between the Pacific and Bogota.
The 550 buyers and agents come from countries such as Colombia, United States, Canada, Spain, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, England, Germany, Costa Rica, Israel, Sweden, Zimbabwe, Poland, Peru, France, Argentina, South Africa, Czech Republic, Belgium and Italy.
Among the buyers, the participation of OCESA, the largest concert promoter in Mexico and Latin America; Filip Kostalek from the Colours of Ostrava Festival in the Czech Republic, ranked as one of the most relevant festivals in Europe and interested in Colombia as a guest country in 2024 - 2025; Brad Holmes from Bassline Festival in South Africa; the Jerusalem Jazz Festival in Israel; Emilia Cantu, in charge of programming for Festivals Mexico City; the Network of Independent Festivals in Brazil, among others, who will participate in the business rounds during the event.
BOmm 2023: the ideal space for making music business deals
Artists, buyers and agents come together to make strategic alliances, conduct negotiations and expand their contact base in three spaces:
The national roundtable: aimed at all selected artists and national buyers to strengthen the network of contacts within the country, learn about local challenges and opportunities and seek alliances to promote music nationally. This roundtable will be held on September 12.
The international roundtable: will connect the artists with the highest scores by the curatorship and consolidated artists who received direct invitations with international buyers. In addition, attendees will be able to learn about trends and practices in different markets, as well as seek opportunities to distribute and promote their music abroad. The appointments will be face-to-face on September 13.
The music agents' roundtable: Aimed at promoting meetings between music agents, as well as exchanging ideas and experiences, seeking new talent, negotiating agreements and establishing strategic alliances with other agents and industry professionals. This space will be held virtually.
