Mincomercio, iNNpulsa Colombia, and the Chamber of Commerce inaugurate three ZASCA centers in the south of Bogota

28 November 2024- The ZASCA Reindustrialization Centers for technologies in Kennedy and Cazucá, in Soacha, began operations. The ZASCA manufacturing center in Ciudad Bolívar also began a new phase.

- With a joint investment of approximately $5.5 billion, these three ZASCA centers will benefit, over a period of two years, 860 productive units and miypmes of the popular economy.

Bogota, November 2024. The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through iNNpulsa Colombia and in partnership with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, is making three new ZASCA Reindustrialization Centers available to the inhabitants of southern Bogota and Soacha. Thanks to a joint investment of approximately $5.5 billion, 860 productive units or MSMEs of the popular economy, located in this sector of the city, will be served.

Two of these centers focus on the exploration and appropriation of technologies and operate in Kennedy and in the Cazucá sector of the municipality of Soacha. These spaces are aimed at productive units, entrepreneurs and MSMEs in any sector of the economy. The ZASCA Reindustrialization Center for manufacturing located in Ciudad Bolívar, which serves beneficiaries engaged in garment manufacturing, has also begun a new phase.

According to Hernán Ceballos Gacharná, general manager of iNNpulsa Colombia - Colombia Productiva, “the ZASCA Reindustrialization Centers strategy continues to reach more sectors of the country's capital with the purpose of increasing productivity and competitiveness in the market of the productive units of the popular economy, through the strengthening of technical skills, access to innovation and technology processes and associativity, among other benefits”.

To date, 73 ZASCA Reindustrialization Centers are in operation in 25 departments of the country, with an investment of close to $120 billion pesos, serving more than 12,800 productive units and MSMEs.

For his part, the executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Ovidio Claros, stated that “from the CCB we are concentrating a large part of our efforts on promoting and accompanying enterprises, productive units and entrepreneurs of the popular economy to access capital goods that will enable them to take their businesses to a new level and thus increase their income. The ZASCA Reindustrialization Centers are essential for the achievement of this objective in favor of the entrepreneurs of Bogota - Region”.

Technologies to strengthen productivity

In the ZASCA centers in Kennedy and Cazucá, located in the facilities of the Digital Experience and Learning Centers of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, beneficiaries will have access to mentoring and technological solutions to increase productivity, strengthening in the use of digital tools and specialized and personalized technical assistance to enhance their capabilities and competitiveness.

The call is available in person at each ZASCA center and productive units and MSMEs from any sector of the economy interested in exploring or appropriating technologies for their businesses can register. Over the next two years, the two ZASCA centers will serve 620 beneficiaries.

It is led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through iNNpulsa Colombia, and reaches the regions in partnership with chambers of commerce, universities and other entities in the territory.

The ZASCA centers seek to increase productivity, improve product quality, increase income generation, provide access to technology, carry out associative processes, facilitate the formulation of business plans for access to capital, among other benefits.
