The Cluster Initiatives for Apparel; Jewelry and Costume Jewelry; and Leather, Footwear and Leather Goods, led by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, have just incorporated in their work plan an important commitment to promote awareness and implementation of good environmental sustainability practices that contribute to mitigating the impact generated by the fashion industry in Bogota and the 59 municipalities under the jurisdiction of the CCB.

As part of the plan, the opportunity was identified to apply to the European Union's ADELANTE 2022 Window, whose objective is to promote triangular alliances for innovative initiatives with a strong impact on the 2030 Agenda.

Thanks to an articulation work between the Sustainable Fashion Cluster of Peru, Finnova and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, the Triangular Cooperation Initiative 'Sustainability in the fashion sector for its internationalization' was created, whose main objective is to share the knowledge of the entities of the alliance to develop and apply models to support companies in the fashion sector, characterized by the promotion of sustainable production that meets the highest international standards. This seeks to close the gaps in the sector in Bogota and the 59 municipalities in the jurisdiction of the CCB for internationalization towards European markets, understanding the requirements such as the mapping of certifications and environmental sustainability seals, through the transfer of European and regional best practices, with awareness-raising actions, training and business missions, which benefit companies in Bogota and Peru, and strengthen the capacities of the Alliance member teams, in order to achieve greater impact, transfer and scalability of the knowledge generated.

With the work of the allied institutions, as well as the guidance and support of the team responsible for the call, it is confirmed that the Initiative has been approved and has the resources for its development. Therefore, it is gratifying for the entities of the alliance to inform the different stakeholders with whom it works that, between September 2022 and April 2023, the following activities will be carried out: 1. Workshop for knowledge transfer among officials of the triangulation entities. 2. Seminar to present the Initiative to the different interest groups. 3. Training course for businessmen, businesswomen and stakeholders of the fashion sector in Bogota and the region. 4. Study visit to Peru by 10 companies from Bogota and the 59 municipalities under the jurisdiction of the CCB, in order to learn about success stories and interact with companies in the fashion sector that, thanks to sustainability and innovation, have been able to access new markets internationally. We will provide information on the selection criteria in future opportunities. 5. Study visit by 5 companies from Bogota and the 59 municipalities under the jurisdiction of the CCB, and 5 companies from Peru to Spain, in order to meet and interact with companies and actors that promote sustainability, innovation and cooperation. 6. Holding of an International Sustainability Congress in Bogota, scheduled for April 2023. In future opportunities we will inform the selection criteria. Likewise, the information related to the entire process, knowledge generated and lessons learned will be documented and put online through different means of communication of the members of the triangulation, so that it can be freely consulted by those who are interested and serve as a reference in the process of transition to a more sustainable fashion.
