ARTBO, the arts program of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, returns to Corferias with the sixteenth edition of ARTBO | Fair, which will be held from October 27 to 30, 2022, with its traditional sections: Main, Projects, Referents, Site, Forum, Artist's Book and Artecámara.

Since 2015, Artecámara has been consolidated as a space for the circulation and visibility of emerging artists' projects to promote their participation in the art market. This section seeks to generate dynamics to strengthen the new generations of Colombian artists.

In 2021, young talents had the opportunity to participate in ARTBO Week, a city event dedicated to the reactivation of the art sector with hybrid content and which had the Galería Santa Fe as its exhibition venue. For this year, Artecámara returns to its usual format as part of the sections of ARTBO | Fair 2022 . For this 2022 ARTBO extends the invitation to artists, artist collectives under the age of 40 years old —or who are of this age at the time of the closing date of the call for proposals—, that do not have a commercial link with a national or foreign gallery, and to independent, self-managed or autonomous spaces of Colombian visual artists that develop their activities in Colombia, to apply to the Artecámara call until May 16, 2022..

About the curator Alejandro Martín Maldonado (1975) studied Mathematics and Philosophy, and found in curatorship a space for research and sharing of key issues in the contemporary context. He worked as curator at Museo La Tertulia (Cali) between 2014 and 2021, and participated in the project of renovation, dynamization and connection with the city. He was artistic director of the 45th National Artists Salon that took place in Bogota in 2019; there he coordinated a series of curatorships that included, in addition to the exhibitions, a broad program of actions, publications, collective projects and education, and that assumed the digital as a space of great importance.
