Bogotá, August 2025. The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) announced this Friday the holding of the CCB Andean Half Marathon, an event that will take place next November 30 in Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, with the aim of strengthening the local economy, encouraging tourism and sports practices, as well as promoting an active and healthy lifestyle around culture, sports, and entrepreneurship.

This new edition of the Andean Half Marathon complements the 2025 year-end marathon calendar and continues the successful event held in 2024 jointly with the Government of Cundinamarca, between Zipaquirá and Cogua. On that occasion, the event brought together more than 7,000 athletes and generated an economic impact reflected in a hotel occupancy rate of over 98%, the creation of 800 direct jobs in the region, and a sales increase of between 15% and 20% compared to a regular weekend in general commerce, according to estimates from the Zipaquirá Secretariat of Economic Development.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, stated:

“With the Andean Half Marathon CCB, we want to activate the entire value chain of tourism, gastronomy, commerce, and services in Fusagasugá and the entire province of Sumapaz, which is a great contribution to its economic growth. We invite athletes from the region and the country to participate in this event, which contributes to the socio-economic transformation of the territory.”

He added:

“To the people of Fusagasugá and, in general, to the entire province of Sumapaz, we thank you for hosting the Andean Half Marathon CCB and extend an invitation to take an active part in this event, enjoy this family-friendly space, and take advantage of the massive attendance of athletes and their families to increase the sales of your businesses.”

For his part, William García Fayad, Mayor of Fusagasugá, said:

“On November 30, the ‘Garden City of Colombia’ will host an extremely important event — we will have the Andean Half Marathon 2025 here in Fusagasugá, with more than 5,000 athletes and their companions in attendance. This is a very positive activity, as it will greatly help us reactivate the municipality’s and the province’s economy. We will have full hotel occupancy, excellent results for the gastronomic sector, entrepreneurs, and commerce.”

He added:

“I want to extend a very special invitation to athletics enthusiasts and those who enjoy these kinds of sporting activities nationwide to come to the ‘Garden City of Colombia’ for the Andean Half Marathon 2025 and enjoy green landscapes, colorful sunsets, and our biodiversity with every step toward the finish line.”
