Bogotá, Colombia. May 31, 2024. The Superintendency of the Solidarity Economy and the Bogota Chamber of Commerce will hold the first FINANCIAL INCLUSION AND PRODUCTIVE CREDIT FAIR this Tuesday, June 4, starting at 8:00 a.m. at the headquarters of the CCB Salitre, aimed at all citizens in general and in which productive cooperatives, associations and organizations of the solidarity and popular economy will be present.

This event will address topics such as the importance of financial inclusion, access to credit and the relevance of the solidarity sector. Valuable information will be presented on the country's solidarity organizations and the measures taken by the Superintendency to strengthen the sector through supervision. This will be an opportunity to create a network of contacts with experts and professionals in financial inclusion and representatives of solidarity sector entities.

“We are looking for the articulation with the entities that can promote the solidarity sector. We are the supervisory body, but we are providing tools so that the entities can accompany the strengthening of cooperatives, mutual associations and employee funds, which is the sector we supervise", said the Superintendent of Solidarity Economy, María José Navarro.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, stated that “One of the major bottlenecks for the popular economy and microenterprises is access to credit. Therefore, this coordination of efforts is essential to democratize credit and avoid the use of “drip to drip”.In that sense, we invite smaller companies to take advantage of this opportunity to access resources with cooperatives.”

Around 30 cooperatives will be present at the fair, where they will be able to connect with other solidarity enterprises, as well as with popular economy enterprises and citizens in general, through their credit product offerings. This initiative will be for the benefit of organizations that are present throughout the national territory.
