Bogota, April 2024. The Bogota Chamber of Commerce and El Corte Inglés awarded chef Cristian Ramírez of Danilo Restaurante as the winner of the third edition of "Bogota Marcando Estilo", who stood out for his dish prepared with local products.

The winner was part of a group of six finalist restaurants, which also included Julián Molano (Incorrecto Cocina), Juan Sebastián Rico (Candado Bistró), Silvia Guzmán (Caffa), Edna Arredondo (Casa Tibaná), Edison González (Gilma), who participated in a cooking show, under the format of "MasterChef", and had one hour to prepare a creative dish to delight the team of jurors.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the CCB, stated that "Our priority is to make MSMEs visible and provide them with opportunities at the national and international level. With Bogota Marcando Estilo, we achieve these two premises by promoting and developing new businesses in the food, gastronomy and tourism sectors".

For his part, Juan Merino, head of purchasing at the Corte Inglés, said that the idea behind this initiative is to look for potential for the hotel and catering area. We have actually seen a lot of potential, as we are looking for innovative products that are available in Europe and that have tradition and history. The winner will travel to Madrid and during the month of June will be in our restaurants".

He affirmed that since previous editions they have been buying coffee and cocoa. One of the products that caught their attention in this edition was the diversity of the use of some products such as fruits, panela and creole potatoes, for example.

The team of evaluators was composed of Juan Merino, head of the hospitality purchasing team at El Corte Inglés; Iván Riesgo-Carcabón, head of non-perishable food purchasing at El Corte Inglés; Liliana Henao, office advisor of the District Institute of Tourism; and Laura Londoño, winner of MasterChef Spain 2023.

Cristian Ramírez of Danilo Restaurante will design, together with the R&D team of El Corte Inglés, the dishes that will make up the monographic of Colombian cuisine that will be developed nationwide in the more than 50 cafeterias of this Spanish chain.
