In order to create a Community of Presidents of leaders who want to contribute to the future of Bogota and the region, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce invited 200 businessmen to discuss the challenges facing the city to make it more competitive and innovative and to set concrete goals that contribute to its development.
This community will be made up of leaders who think about the future of the city, who question the needs of the new generations and who are willing to develop their own skills and those of their teams, which will allow them to take ownership of what is happening in the future of Bogota and the Region.
Although there will be a collective construction with entrepreneurs to define in the coming weeks what will be the major issues in which to contribute, the CCB proposed to start the talks, to promote in Bogota aspects such as artificial intelligence; new energies; transportation and logistics; education; new entrepreneurship; media and information ecosystem and the defense of the role of entrepreneurs.
Nicolás Uribe Rueda, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce stated that "From the Bogota Chamber of Commerce we want to make you part of this community in which we want to integrate business leaders who think about the future of the city and the region. Bogota has the conditions for leaders like us to take on the challenge of making it more competitive".
In this space, the president of the Chamber recalled that Bogota is the fourth city in Latin America with the best qualified human talent, with a young workforce of more than six million workers, surpassed only by Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Lima. He also pointed out that Bogota is home to 40% of the country's research groups, 39% of the Ph. Ds. and 35% of Colombia's technologists and technicians. Likewise, the strategic location in the center of America and in a country with access to both oceans, makes it competitive and attractive for foreign investment.
"The purpose of the community is to generate proposals, solutions and conversations that transcend into the future of the country. Bogota contributes 26% of the country's GDP, so it is clear that if the capital city does well, the country does well. The private sector and its companies are the ones called to generate equity and quality of life in the territories", highlighted the president of the CCB.
This community will be made up of 49% women, in order to have equity in leadership. In addition, 60% will be CEOs and 40% entrepreneurs, representing companies or organizations of which 40% are located in Bogota and 60% operate nationwide.
