The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), its affiliate Uniempresarial, Ingeurbe, and Triada have graduated the first group of 28 site supervisors in Colombia through a pioneering program designed to provide in-depth training for a key role in the construction sector.
The modular program, consisting of three diploma courses and delivered in a hybrid format, offers a practical and flexible learning path tailored to meet the real needs of construction workers.
This initiative strengthens the sector’s competitiveness by reducing informality, incorporating new technical and digital skills, and attracting younger generations to strategic trades.
Bogotá, September 2025 – The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), through its Construction Cluster and its affiliate Uniempresarial, celebrated the graduation ceremony of the first group of 28 workers from construction companies Ingeurbe and Triada who successfully completed the Site Supervisors Training Program. This pioneering initiative in Colombia seeks to dignify and professionalize a strategic role essential for the successful execution of construction projects.
The event was attended by 70 participants and served as a platform to highlight the value of collaboration between the productive and educational sectors to strengthen human talent in construction.
Ovidio Claros Polanco, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, stated:
“Site supervisors play a fundamental role in transforming our cities. With this program, we acknowledge their contributions, strengthen their capabilities, and open up new opportunities to make the construction sector more competitive and sustainable. This is a key step in our commitment to dignify labor and strengthen the grassroots economy of Bogotá and Cundinamarca.”
Carlos Garzón, Academic Vice Chancellor of Uniempresarial, added:
“Uniempresarial, together with the Construction Cluster of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and with the participation of Ingeurbe and Triada, has designed the first Site Supervisors Training Program. This program, unique and of critical importance for the construction sector, will soon evolve into a formal training program for work and human development. Graduates of this program receive various certifications that enable them to carry out their work more technically and professionally.”
Addressing a Long-Standing Industry Gap
The training of site supervisors aims to close one of the construction sector’s historical gaps: the lack of formal training and certification programs for trades that have traditionally been learned informally and without professional recognition. This lack of structure has limited productivity, affected quality standards, and hindered generational renewal within the industry.
A Commitment to Regional Competitiveness
The modular program, developed by Uniempresarial in coordination with the CCB's Construction Cluster, offers a qualification path that blends theory and hands-on learning, tailored to the needs of construction site workers. This initiative sets a precedent by recognizing these workers as strategic players in the transformation of the city and region, and it is positioned as a replicable model for other construction trades. It is also aligned with the CCB’s human talent agenda, which seeks to reduce informality, enhance technical and digital skills, and attract new generations to essential occupations for urban development and regional competitiveness.
The academic plan included three diploma programs focused on strengthening technical and occupational safety skills, along with elements of innovation and sustainability. The hybrid format allowed participants to pursue their training without neglecting their responsibilities on the job site, proving that continuous education can be effective when aligned with the needs of the productive sector.
With this first graduating cohort, Ingeurbe and Triada establish themselves as pioneering companies investing directly in the growth of their operational workforce. This experience not only enhances the quality of their projects but also sets a precedent for other companies to follow. Beyond business benefits, initiatives like this help improve working conditions, elevate the social status of construction trades, and create new opportunities for professional advancement for workers.
An Invitation to the Sector
The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and Uniempresarial call on construction companies to join these training programs, which not only boost business productivity but also dignify workers and contribute to the sustainability of the sector and the regional economy.
