CCB Opens Christmas Window Display Contest to Promote Tourism and Boost Commercial Sales

The 2025 Christmas Window Display contest by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) expanded its coverage by 50% compared to 2024 with eight new locations (three localities and four municipalities). This year, Christmas Window Displays is supported by Fenalco Bogotá, the District Secretariat of Economic Development, local Mayors' Offices, and the Governor's Office of Cundinamarca.

The enabled localities in Bogotá are: Antonio Nariño, Barrios Unidos, Chapinero, Engativá, Kennedy, La Candelaria - Santa Fe, Los Mártires, Puente Aranda, Teusaquillo, Usaquén, Ciudad Bolívar, Suba, Tunjuelito, with the last 3 being new this year. In the region, the enabled municipalities are Chía, Cota, Fusagasugá, Tocancipá, Zipaquirá, Cajicá, La Calera, Sopó, and Sibaté, with the last 4 being new this year.

Merchants can participate in 11 categories: home and decoration; fashion; children's items and gifts; jewelry, costume jewelry, and silverwork; gastronomy; pets; health and beauty; recreation and sports; technology; stores; and shopping center facades, one representing each participating municipality. Furthermore, the most viral window display will be recognized, which will be chosen by the public through social media.

The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB), with the support of Fenalco, the Governor's Office of Cundinamarca, and the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, launched the 2025 Christmas Window Display contest this Tuesday. Its goal is to strengthen local commerce, promote tourism, and boost the economy in Bogotá and the Region during this end-of-year season.

There will be 11 categories this year: home and decoration; fashion; children's items and gifts; jewelry, costume jewelry, and silverwork; gastronomy; pets; health and beauty; recreation and sports; technology; stores; and shopping center facades, one representing each participating municipality. Likewise, the most viral window display will be recognized, which will be chosen by the public through social media.

Ovidio Claros Polanco, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, stated that "through the Christmas Window Display contest, the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce ratifies our commitment to businesses in Bogotá and the Region during a crucial time for commerce, like Christmas. Furthermore, by increasing the number of municipalities and localities linked to this initiative, we are increasing our impact, fostering the Christmas spirit, and, most importantly, moving the cash register for our reason for being: the entrepreneurs."

Juan Esteban Orrego, Director of FENALCO Bogotá Cundinamarca, highlighted that "Christmas Window Displays 2025 is an initiative that we support alongside the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and seeks to bring out the best in commerce, beautify local businesses, and attract more customers for the end-of-year season. On this occasion, we are going with 12 localities and eight municipalities in Cundinamarca, we invite you to participate and be part of the growth of our merchants."

Who can participate

The contest expects to see the participation of more than 2,000 businesses, which must meet the requirements previously established by the organizers:

Be registered in the Commercial Registry as a merchant, whether a natural or legal person, with an active commercial registration from the CCB and have the renewal for 2025.

The commercial establishment to be nominated must also be registered in the Commercial Registry, with an active commercial registration and renewal for 2025.

Belong to one of the established product/service categories, and the window display can only be registered in one category.

The establishment must be located in one of the defined prioritized areas, which can be found at https://www.ccb.org.co/servicios/haz-crecer-tu-empresa/incrementa-tus-ventas/vitrinas-navidenas-ccb

Correctly fill out the form, and only one window display per company will be registered.

Interested parties can register at www.ccb.org.co until November 18th. The judges will make two visits to the establishments, and the final awards ceremony will take place on December 11th.

The winners will receive recognition such as participation in a stand at the next year's Home Fair (Feria del Hogar); accompaniment by a business consultant; and dissemination on CCB radio, the CCB's station, among other benefits.

Christmas Caravans

Within the framework of the Christmas Window Display contest, Christmas Caravans will be made available to the public, through which citizens can enjoy the decoration of the commercial establishments linked to the contest. They will be active between December 10th and 16th. Participation of 2,200 people is expected in the Christmas Caravans, a figure that will represent a 50% increase compared to what was achieved in 2024.
