Bogota, June 2024. In order to present trends, tools and all the support that entrepreneurs and businessmen from Bogota and the region can receive to achieve sustainable businesses, the Bogota Chamber of Commerce will hold tomorrow #SomosSostenibles.

Through panels with entrepreneurs, experiences in sustainability in the gastronomy, technology and fashion sectors, among others, will be presented. Likewise, the tools to incorporate sustainability as a business model and the advisory services that the CCB has to support MSMEs will be presented.

The CCB has a strong commitment to sustainability that is transversal to the services it provides in Bogota and the region and has different programs and initiatives that seek to support the popular economy to offer environmentally friendly products and services.

High-impact companies

The CCB provides ongoing support through activities and services in the area of sustainability; we have raised awareness, trained and advised around 13,800 people. A total of 1,755 companies have taken part in one of the specialized business sustainability programs between 2020 and 2023.

BIC companies. Since 2020 we have accompanied 517 companies to adopt the BIC condition through different scenarios of awareness, training, counseling and technical assistance and to date in Bogota and the jurisdiction of the CCB there are more than 610 BIC companies, about 22.3% of the total BIC companies nationwide (2725).

In circular economy, the entity has experiential workshops for the incorporation of sustainable materials, inputs and components in its circular products. As of April 2024, the CCB has sensitized more than 600 companies on the importance, benefits and practical cases of application of the circular economy, and has accompanied 40 companies.

If what companies need is access to resources, the Chamber has advisory services to access national and international cooperation resources. It has already assisted more than 2,700 companies.

Promotion of the energy efficiency culture is another initiative that seeks to stimulate the energy efficiency market by bringing together energy service providers and companies in different sectors of the economy. It has benefited close to 1,400 companies and in 2024, in addition to this service, it will open spaces for knowledge and the generation of spaces for relationships with other sectors, and will launch a program that will focus on the 4 economic sectors (food safety, fashion, printing and packaging, and tourism, recreation and sports) with training, support and generation of simple information for the implementation of actions that lead to the reduction of energy consumption.

Other programs available to entrepreneurs include a program for the appropriation of the eco-design concept and participation in collective plans for printing and packaging, as well as support in eco-innovation.

Sustainability Ranking. The CCB will launch tomorrow the second edition of the Sustainability Ranking, which aims to measure the progress of companies in this area. In its first version, more than 150 companies were measured and 19 of them were recognized for their progress in this area.
