Temas legales y juridicos

Bogota, March 2025. Cartagena de Indias is preparing to receive on April 2 and 3, 2025, at the Hotel Las Américas, the leading experts in conflict resolution, within the framework of the VII National and International Congress on Conflict Resolution: A Center for the Americas, organized by the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce.
The Center is one of the most outstanding in the world, both for the number of cases and for the quality and specialization of its operators: arbitrators, conciliators, amiable compositeurs and mediators. Under the slogan #OtraFormaDeJusticiaEsPosible, the event will highlight the importance of giving a voice to all actors in conflict resolution and offering effective tools to manage disputes. It will also emphasize that justice is not limited to the courts, but is strengthened through strategies that promote agile and equitable solutions.
Ovidio Claros Polanco, president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce stated that: “Strengthening alternative dispute resolution mechanisms is key to ensure a stable and reliable business environment. This congress is a unique opportunity to discuss the future of justice and continue advancing towards a more efficient and accessible model for all”.
It is worth noting that the impact of technology on dispute resolution will also be one of the main topics of conversation. Issues such as medical liability versus ethical principles or how important is the duty of disclosure in arbitration proceedings are questions that will be at the center of the discussions, along with investment arbitration, amicable composition and the current status of MRCs.
Among the attendees, participation is expected from the legal and business community, as well as representatives from the world's leading law firms. Panelists will include Ruth Stella Correa, Juan Manuel Garrido, Santiago Pardo and Enrique Gómez Pinzón, among others. In previous editions, key figures in conflict resolution have used this space to announce regulatory changes and share perspectives on the future of justice in Latin America.
The Congress will not only be a forum for discussion, but also a space for networking, where businessmen and lawyers will be able to establish strategic alliances. With lectures, panels, trade shows and pre-event activities, the aim is to generate an ongoing dialogue on how alternative mechanisms can improve legal security for investors and traders.
