Bogota, May 2025 - The Bogota Chamber of Commerce and AmCham Colombia fulfilled their objective of contributing to the strengthening of trade and business ties between Canada, Colombia, the United States and Mexico at the close of the Business Summit and Business Roundtable: North America in Perspective, held on May 14 and 15 in Bogota.
More than 400 entrepreneurs from the Capital and Cundinamarca, and other regions of the country, made 1,185 appointments with 60 international buyers convened by these two organizations, to promote trade, investment and business cooperation between Colombia, Canada, the United States and Mexico.
“These results, with which we exceeded business expectations four times over, closing with more than 20 million dollars, demonstrate our commitment to consolidate Bogota and Cundinamarca as a reliable destination for doing business, contributing to the internationalization of companies by promoting the competitiveness of strategic sectors through clusters and creating spaces for connection, knowledge and business generation,” explained the executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Ovidio Claros Polanco.
María Claudia Lacouture, president of the Colombian-American Chamber, AmCham Colombia, said “This business roundtable, which coincided with the 13th anniversary of the trade agreement between Colombia and the United States, allowed entrepreneurs from Bogotá, Cundinamarca and 12 other regions of the country to materialize the commercial opportunities that exist thanks to the FTA, and also opened doors for exporters to connect with high-potential buyers, explore new business options and strengthen their presence in the region”.
Sonia Bohada, from the production and marketing company Tegro SAS, emphasized that participating in the business roundtables has allowed her to project herself internationally: "last year we made our first export after participating in a business roundtable of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. Our products are products of farmers displaced by violence, dehydrated fruits and organic products".
With the meetings between buyers and suppliers from Bogota and Cundinamarca, the CCB is committed to promoting local products, the internationalization of companies and strengthening the business fabric of the capital, as the epicenter of the country's development.
