40 suppliers from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela will participate in the business roundtable with businessmen from Bogota and the region to boost regional integration through the strengthening of production chains and intra-regional trade. The business roundtable will be held today and tomorrow, April 29 and 30, and is expected to generate a turnover of USD 4 million. Bogota, April 2025. The Andean Business Summit 2025 organized by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce (CCB), a meeting that brings together business leaders, unions, economic authorities and multilateral organizations from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, with the aim of boosting regional integration by strengthening production chains and intra-regional trade, is progressing successfully.
During the first day of the event, attendees participated in thematic panels, business rounds and spaces for dialogue on investment, sustainability, innovation, digital transformation and business development. The potential of regional value chains and the need to take advantage of instruments already in place, such as the free trade zone that currently eliminates tariffs between CAN countries, were highlighted. Ovidio Claros Polanco, executive president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, noted that “The Andean Business Summit is a concrete example of how regional coordination can translate into real opportunities for our entrepreneurs. From the popular economy to large industries, we believe in an integration that generates growth with equity and strengthens our international projection”.
Within the framework of the Summit, business meetings were promoted among entrepreneurs from the member countries, generating new export opportunities, strategic alliances and regional expansion. These connections reaffirm the role of the business sector as a key player in the sustainable economic development of the region. Gustavo Gutiérrez, Secretary General of the Andean Community, stated that “The true potential of regional integration lies in strengthening our productive chains and diversifying supply and markets. We have zero tariffs among the Andean countries and we must take advantage of this to generate decent employment and value-added trade that benefits the 114 million citizens of the Andean Community. Likewise, we must take advantage of the region's offer of exportable services in sectors such as construction and information technology, among others. Likewise, Camilo Herrera, president of Raddar, emphasized that “The Andean Business Summit represents a unique opportunity to rethink our regional integration from a modern and strategic perspective. Today, more than ever, we must strengthen the value chains between countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela, taking advantage of the logistical, productive and commercial advantages that each one offers.”
For her part, businesswoman and Summit attendee María Lucía Feria said, “In an ever-changing global environment, it is necessary to find spaces for cooperation among the Andean countries. The Andean Business Summit allows us entrepreneurs to find new ways to trade and open new markets. We are very excited to be able to attend this Summit since, through the business roundtable organized at the event, we will be able to get in touch with different businessmen and buyers who want to invest in our products.” The event also included spaces to promote the internationalization of MSMEs and the development of joint financial mechanisms, as well as cooperation in sustainability and innovation as key drivers of competitiveness. The event boosts the commitment to continue promoting a common business agenda that closes gaps, boosts investment and projects the region as a solid and competitive economic bloc.
